Helping the Homeless in Central London

A bit of background information about us:

The Soup Kitchen, founded in 1986, as a resource for the homeless, elderly, lonely and poor in Central London. We currently provide free hot meals, clothes and toiletries. The team (paid and unpaid) aim to create a sense of belonging and community to our guests.

We are based in a large courtyard at the back of The American Church on Tottenham Court Road. We Serve around 60 people a day from 10am -12 noon on Monday,Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, with the Clothes Closet open on Mondays.

The Soup Kitchen is run by a Board of Trustees, a part-time Director and Kitchen Manager and a team of volunteers both from the church and wider community.

The Director and others provide basic advice and refer guests to other agencies with different specialties. We seek to provide assistance in a variety of ways, including help with letters and phone calls, liaising with social services, and encouragement and prayer.

Keep on reading our blogs to get week to week recollection of events and stories...
